Government Polytechnic Rampur is the leading polytechnic college in the district of Rampur. It is one of the oldest Polytechnic in the state of Uttar Pradesh providing diploma in various engineering streams. . It was established in 1984 under supervision of first principal Mr R S Gangwar and started functioning in the temporary building from July 1984 with only one stream of Electronics Engineering. The college was shifted to its newly constructed building in 1988 with Instrumentation and Control Engineering branch added in 1988 and Electrical (IC) branch added in 1992. From session 2012-13 two more branches Electrical Engineering and Computer Science & Engineering were added. At present all the courses running in the institute are affiliated to Board of Technical Education U.P. and are approved by AICTE New Delhi . It is the most prestigious technical institution in Rampur district and functioning under the able leadership of principal Mr D. V. Singh.
